I’m pleased to share that 2025 was an exceptional year for Redwood Credit Union. We grew to serve more than 521,000 Members in the North Bay, San Francisco, and beyond. We are the 4th-largest credit union in California and the 27th-largest in the United States out of 4,400. Our strength and stability support our steady growth and ensure that our Members’ money stays safe and secure.
At RCU, we’re not beholden to investors or stockholders. Any profits RCU earns are returned to our Members, and you get them back in the form of higher rates on your savings, including money markets and certificates; lower rates on loans and credit cards; free checking; and more than 35,000 free network ATMs, along with an ATM fee reimbursement program.
And, as always, your deposits at RCU are federally insured by the National Credit Union Administration to a minimum of at least $250,000, providing the same level of protection as the FDIC provides for banks.
In addition to delivering strong financial performance, we also strive to give Members the best banking experience possible, whether you’re banking online or visiting one of our 22 branches. Last year, driven by Members’ feedback, we improved and upgraded many of our products, services, and technologies, including our rewards program, life insurance portal, and fraud protection tools. We also introduced new ways to make saving easier, improve your credit score, and more.
Our digital banking platform is also consistently recognized as one of the best in the country. In fact, more than 91% of all RCU transactions are conducted electronically, demonstrating that Members enjoy the convenience of our online banking and mobile app when they are not near a local branch.
At the heart of RCU’s success is our committed and engaged team. Last year, our employee engagement score from team member surveys was over 96%, far exceeding Gallup’s benchmark for exceptional workplaces, which averages around 70%. This reflects how deeply our team believes in RCU’s mission and purpose. To prove it, RCU was named a Best Place to Work in the North Bay for the 20th year in a row by the North Bay Business Journal. This is always the award I’m most proud of, because when our team members feel valued and fulfilled in their jobs, that satisfaction translates into exceptional care and service for our Members.
As highlighted throughout this report, 2025 was an impressive year, one in which RCU continued to support and empower our local communities. I’m excited about the new innovations and services we’ll introduce to Members in 2026, and about all the new ways we will support Members, neighbors, local organizations, and local businesses on their path to financial well-being.
