School to Work
UPS School to Work is an exemplary work-based learning program that provides a rich context for using skills learned at school. It is designed to provide high school seniors with the opportunity to gain valuable work experience and to earn college credit.
All high school students work at UPS during their school day hours and receive high school elective credit for participating in the program. With approximately 400 high school students beginning the program each year, the School to Work Department and management teams are committed to ensuring the success of students.

These courses include English 101, Business, Algebra, Basic Public Speaking, Business, Humanities, and others.
In addition, The School to Work Program provides a pathway to connect secondary and post-secondary education. Two post-secondary educational opportunities that UPS offers are Metropolitan College and Earn & Learn.

How it Works
I believe the UPS/STW program is an awesome opportunity to have flexibility in your normal school schedule. I have seen students transform from just wanting to make money to exploring college opportunities! I have observed many students learn to navigate time management as they are completing high school, working, and taking college classes throughout their senior year. It truly is a privilege to be a part of a program that reaches so many high school students in Jefferson County and beyond.
